I am, of course, assuming that you're going to use some sort of wastegated solution or variable nozzle solution to limit your turbine speed. I still don't think you need to spin as fast as what is mentioned here.

So I see that I'm far from alone on this topic, or the solar topic... etc.
I too have been working on my own mental design stages for a turbo driven alternator... and I was actually thinking on gear reduction numbers in the range of 60:1 simply for the torque multiplier function and was hypothetically thinking that perhaps the increased torque output could help minimize that "load stalling" if you will that was being mentioned earlier, and having the speed controlled vial waste gate...
But then my question to you T Vago... how do you know that the turbine would in fact stop?
