When I was looking for a transmission I was looking for-
1) Crx hf
2) Civic vx
3) Civic hx
I was not able to find an hf near me (at local pick-a-part shops) for what I thought of as a reasonable price. $350.
But a friend of mine was swaping in a B18c5 into his 99 Hx, so I gave him $100 for it and swaped it into mine
. With the Hx transmission I can cruise at 2.2k rpm at 60 mph. And 75ish is at 3k rpm. That is not bad, in my oppion, but I would still love to get the hf transmission.
I loved working at Honda, the amount of information in their books is amazing. And I could call Honda techline for anything else that I could not find
And yes I love digging around in my car. I will be teaching my two boys about maintaining their cars. It is not that hard to work on our cars, doing some diagnostics on the new electronics is a bit of a pain, but still doable.
