Cool Fuel #s In - Let the Mods Begin

So I've already managed to put little over 2,000 miles since engine rebuild, and have gone through 5 tanks, driving until empty and filling up every time and keeping track of all my #s and so on..

And to be honest I'm somewhat disappointed by my baseline results.
So far my overall mpg is 46.7, with a best tank of 50.46.

I know my driving speeds don't help me much, but I was really counting on that 3.52 tranny to push me into mid 50's... But I guess I still don't know if it's really a 3.52 (I haven't lifted it yet to count revs and verify - but that's another story)

I've been somewhat holding back so that I could create a baseline... Well #s are in. It's now time to knock out some of the low hanging fruit and really start getting into it and see what it can do.

I know from the tools provided on this site how that most of my inefficiencies come from aero drag... And since I had some time I decided to go after the biggest bang for my time.

It helps that my parts car already had a kammback

With kammback removed I proceeded to paint both sides

This is my new look

While I was at it I removed the passenger wiper arm

And also removed the "cold-air" section of the intake, this should in theory allow for relatively warmer air intake.

That's all I managed to do to it today. I looked into removing my passenger side mirror and antenna today, but I wasn't sure how I was going to cover the exposed holes. I'll have to see what everyone else is doing for ideas. But I do have a parts car to use as a template so I'll do that at a later time.

The next few things to come will be as mentioned side mirror & antenna delete, but also grill blocks, and headlight covers.
