There will be a lot fewer repeat offenders if they encounter a human with a firearm.
Where I am from, Maine we are the only state where you can hunt bear with dog, trap and bait. All hunting licenses come with a "bear tag". The animal rights lunatics tried to change that law some time around 2006, so it was put on referendum. It was voted down in flames, 80% were against changing the law.
That is how I am used to dealing with them.
