They're actually pretty sturdy now, only slightly wiggle at trailing edge at 65 mph. The tape hasn't even tried to come loose.
I do however wish I could make them go lower just to keep my feet warm. Starting around my lower calf, its just as cold as it always was, and seems more noticeable now because just above that zone is perfectly warm.
I am leery however of adding anything that might hinder me getting my feet down quickly, so anything added for foot protection would have to be very carefully thought out.
