It is indeed what I had in mind although I can't really understand how shorter gearing for every given RPM and faster acceleration could not detract FE.
I suppose it is because less throttle is needed for the same acceleration (but with more pumping losses, this is very much a nightmare to find hard and fast rules ...)

The ratio of time spent accelerating to the time spent cruising at the highest gearing is minimal. Cruise rpm is actually slightly reduced with the sliders.

What model windshield?
What windshield model do you have on your PCX? I just bought myself a Honda PCX 150 and i'm interested in what mods you have done to your scoot. I have read most of your post, but I didn't see what windshield you bought, also all of your pictures are dead links.

Too bad facebook keeps changing the addresses of my photos so all of my forum posts end up with dead links.
.
I'm using the Givi D322 windscreen on my 2013 PCX. which I also modified to tip it back and reshape it slightly to clear the mirrors.

12 gm DrPulley sliders. Could even go with 11.5 gm for a pulling rpm closer to 8,000

Here they are.
Pictures attached, hopefully they stay. Thanks for posting the pictures, they are of great help in visualizing your mods.

I will definitely do your seat mod to my scoots seat. Did you only cutout one side of the plastic frame? I'm guessing you only cut one hole, so that you could patch the upholstery and to add extra foam. Is that right? I'm still researching windshields, thank's for the pictures, it is helping in narrowing down my choice.
Gil.

You cut both hump mounts. I showed it with one cut out just for comparison. Then fit some layers of carpet foam and slide some plastic from a milk jug in place to hold it. I glued fabric patches together on the inside and outside. It looks neat and is still holding perfectly after three years and 20,000 miles.

I made these coroplast cutouts to help block the cold wind on my 2013 pcx, and they work quite well, removing buffeting and making a dead air zone on my lower body except for my feet. No more cold legs!
They are held on by having a tight fitting hole over the turn signal and some clear tape to seal them to the bodywork.
They work well enough that my effective riding season is extended, and cost under $10 to make from coroplast I got from home depot.

Too bad there isn't room for your feet if you were to continue them down the the front part of the running boards which would make them sturdier.

They're actually pretty sturdy now, only slightly wiggle at trailing edge at 65 mph. The tape hasn't even tried to come loose.
I do however wish I could make them go lower just to keep my feet warm. Starting around my lower calf, its just as cold as it always was, and seems more noticeable now because just above that zone is perfectly warm.
I am leery however of adding anything that might hinder me getting my feet down quickly, so anything added for foot protection would have to be very carefully thought out.
