Performance Trend Fuel Economy Calculator says a 2900 pound S10 with a 5 speed T10, 2.73 gear and 26" tires should get 30+ MPG @ 50-55 MPH. I need to know what the optimum rpm to use for crying with a carb. I think I need to keep it below 1700 rpm to ensure the carb stays in the idle circuit and not the power circuit.
I forgot to say that I have an AEM AFR meter to go in the truck as well as a Vacuum Gauge.
The choices of gears I have are 2.44, 2.57, 2.75, 3.00 and 3.25. I've been collecting these ring gears for a long time.
