So you don't think an inverter generator would be necessary? It seems the inverter generators get real expensive real quick, whereas other portable generators are much cheaper.
It's been below freezing for the past few days. In January I'd like to go to Montrose, about 65 miles from here. But I've got several changes in elevation and the cold to deal with. I might make it on one charge, but then again I might not. A backup portable generator would be great, but not if it costs an arm and a leg or fries the onboard charger.
