There must be some chemical or oil that does help with fogging but only to a point. If I wipe my finger across the inside of the window, that will be the last place to fog up even weeks later. It still will fog but the area around it fogs first. On my Subie which is a bit damp inside this time of year anyway, I immediately turn on the defrost and start the fan when driving. If I wait 2 mins until there is heat to go along the windows will have already started fogging and it then seems like an uphill battle the rest of my 6 minute commute. I think the airflow right away is not only drying the interior air right away, but keeping my exhale from hitting the windshield and condensing.
