I've used something similar on windscreen, works well above 50mph (don't need wipers), other than that the best I've found is to crack the window slightly so the humid air is drawn out. Have you also checked that the hvac isn't set to recirculating? If I leave mine like that (no AC) it ends up like an 1100kg sauna.
I've a Hyundai Accent LCII 1300 manual - still prefer the old Humber Sceptre 6 speed. It's funny how similar they are with a 40 year difference but I'd commit a small crime for a fwd version of the Sceptre 6 speed gearbox, the Accent ratios are low, 28mph in direct top with intake fan is possible.
