A few months back I had noticed a small oil leak from the rear of the engine. When I installed my pan heaters, I discovered for certain where it was coming from - around the timing chain tensioner.

My service manual informed me that there's a rubber gasket with a filter, and a metal gasket, so I ordered both from G1parts. Part numbers 14511PHM003 and 14515PHM004.

The rubber gasket was rock hard and broke to bits when I removed it.

New gasket installed:

Part reinstalled. I'll clean up the oil next time I'm at a self-service car wash.

While I was at it, I did an early oil change with Honda's Green Oil, which I ordered from the UK. It's noticeably thinner than 0w20 when the weather is 20F.

Current miles: 219,386
