Maybe, but more likely they take out somebody not paying attention anyway. Is Bill Gates really all that smart if he's looking at his cell phone while driving? Pay attention and you can anticipate what an idiot is going to do before they know. One of my gripes with the autonomous cars, they will just never be as smart in thinking ahead although better reaction may make up for insight. Still I suppose no matter what you do at some point there could be cases where you are going to die. To me that's just the price of living.
