The electric super car went around Circuit of the Americas circuit and set the fastest production car lap AND a fastest driverless lap. The driverless car went around COTA circuit in 2 minutes and 40.33 seconds, reaching a top speed straight of 160 mph. A professional driver drove it to set the production car lap record at COTA of 2 minutes and 11.30 seconds, with a top speed of 170 mph.
NIO reports the car has four high-performance inboard motors with four individual gearboxes, 1 MW of power, 1,342 hp. 0 to 124 mph in a 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 194 mph. It set a time of 7 min. 5.12 second lap, NIO can claim the title of the world’s fastest electric car at Nurgburgring! Nice looking too!
