So ive been looking around for cheap nv4500hd transmissions. Havent gotten very far. Carpart.com diddnt have jack for less than a grand, 1000 miles away.

So far it will cost about $3k to do the swap. Rebuilt trans, re-fitted driveshafts, the lot.

Ive been playing with the transmission controls that i have and found that its in the wrong gear pretty much all the time.... It shifts to 2nd after 10ish mph, 3rd at 25-30 and od at 40-45. Tcc lockup at 50.... Slow down from lockup to 10ish and accelerate again and its still in 3rd. The torque converter just slipps away to make the difference. And using the overdrive off button does lock it up in 1:1 3rd gear, but crawling around at 40 and 1700 rpm returns around 12 cruising. 50 mph at 1400 rpm gets around 16. And 18 at 56 and 1600.

So. I may start figuring out how to make this slushbox manually controlled. Perhaps even get a torque converter that stalls at a lower rpm. This gas v10 revs like a diesel anyway.
