Twin variable geometry turbos .
Use them like aircraft and add psi to enter lean burn.
Run 3 separate tunes 1)tow /work 2)normal /lean burn 3)strate 100% Ethanol

In 2002 or 2003, Bosch adapted a Volkswagen Polo to run on gasoline, ethanol and CNG, resorting to a turbo with an overboosting setup to make it up for the higher knocking resistence of both ethanol and CNG. I don't know what had been done of that test mule in the meantime.

I can see how an advanced engine might take advantage of one or the other on the fly. But when they are mixed together?
This used to be called 'neither fish nor fowl'. 14.7-1 sounds like the optimal stochastic ratio.

Stoichiometric mix for gas is 14.7:1 air:fuel. For e85 what i found was supposed to be around 9:1. "30% more" was what was said everywhere i looked yesterday. Also said e85 has an octane of around 100-110. Great for race fuel and high compression. And being that im usually between the rockies and Appalachians, e85 is plentiful. However i would hate to have the opportunity for a good job, say in washington, where e85 is 300 miles away.

As a rule-of-thumb, fuel consumption while running on ethanol is usually around 30% higher, proportional to its lower energy density. Naturally, this difference might be lower in engines optimized to take advantage of the specfic conditions of ethanol such as its slower flame spread (which requires ignition timing to be advanced a little).

So ive been looking around for cheap nv4500hd transmissions. Havent gotten very far. Carpart.com diddnt have jack for less than a grand, 1000 miles away.
So far it will cost about $3k to do the swap. Rebuilt trans, re-fitted driveshafts, the lot.
Ive been playing with the transmission controls that i have and found that its in the wrong gear pretty much all the time.... It shifts to 2nd after 10ish mph, 3rd at 25-30 and od at 40-45. Tcc lockup at 50.... Slow down from lockup to 10ish and accelerate again and its still in 3rd. The torque converter just slipps away to make the difference. And using the overdrive off button does lock it up in 1:1 3rd gear, but crawling around at 40 and 1700 rpm returns around 12 cruising. 50 mph at 1400 rpm gets around 16. And 18 at 56 and 1600.
So. I may start figuring out how to make this slushbox manually controlled. Perhaps even get a torque converter that stalls at a lower rpm. This gas v10 revs like a diesel anyway.

Have you been able to find a hp/tq BSFC map for your setup yet?that would tell you how low you can go on the torque converter.

No i havent found a bsfc map yet. Plenty of torque curves though. Peaks at 450 ft-lbs at 2500. And is still 350ish at idle. Assuming the idle controll valve could open up to handle the difference of a lower stall.

Others have done it, see if your transmission has one tcc solenoid for torque converter lockup, if so, figure out a way to manually control it!
