My point was that California isn't a monolith. At some point
El Camino Real ends and you get the
State of Jefferson, right?
In the 1970s my VW bus (walk-through 13-window) had a bumper sticker that said "Don't Californicate Oregon". More lately I look on them as neighbors. Fruitcake neighbors.
