Same here is Sweden, all of our kitchen left overs / food waste, is collected on a bi-weekly basis, it then goes off to become e85, vehicle gas (can't rember if it is LNG or CNG) and the rest becomes a fertiliser.
With the timber industry, tree oil is reclaimed from the timber plants, and then this is also processed to become a bio diesel.
ST1 is has now jumped on the band wagon and is offering a petrol with at least 10% bio petrol - as I pass one of these 'test' stations I thought that I might give it a go for a month.
