Did you make any mods regarding the ethanol/regular mixing? I tried 50/50 mixture in a '95 primera and it did not function all that good...engine would "think" for a split second when applying throttle and became a bit sluggish

Same here is Sweden, all of our kitchen left overs / food waste, is collected on a bi-weekly basis, it then goes off to become e85, vehicle gas (can't rember if it is LNG or CNG) and the rest becomes a fertiliser.

With the timber industry, tree oil is reclaimed from the timber plants, and then this is also processed to become a bio diesel.

ST1 is has now jumped on the band wagon and is offering a petrol with at least 10% bio petrol - as I pass one of these 'test' stations I thought that I might give it a go for a month.

50/50 might be a bit too much, have you tried any other mixtures ?

Nissans react poorly to e85 stock.

And my only mods is a better breathing filter and a grille block to lessen air flow to the gearbox.

no, actually. I guess you could improve quite a bit. The aero has a lot of places you could improve.

I am aware of biomethane being used in Sweden as an alternative to fossil CNG. Tree oils being used as a feedstock for biodiesel sould interesting too.

Now driving pure e85 ethanol gas.

A litre of it costs 0.999 euros.

And a litre of regular costs 1.55 euros.

so it's 56% cheaper.

So as long as my car has a mileage better than 22 Mpg, it's cheaper to drive on it

Well done, any issues or differences with it ?

I have yet to try e85, I might do some day, I'd need to do the maths to work out when it becomes worthwhile for me, then see if / what mixtures my car likes. There are a number of e85 Focuses with the zetec engine so there might be hope for my escort.

Well, the car is very sluggish when cold. And it can throw a code of being too lean. Id recommend getting the car tuned for it IMHO/owning a flex-ffuel or having a more "compatible" car.

we'll see how it reacts to WAI, it leans the mixture quite a bit and e85 is very kock-resistant
