Technically, a through-the-road hybrid. A good trailer and tow vehicle combo might only lose 2-3mpg; a bad one might halve the mileage.
When do we get to know what trailer you bought. Does it have a torsion bar Dexter-type trailing arm suspension? How much water need it carry?
You could put a bicycle-type generator on one tire with a Lithium Ion battery module and burn gas to charge your camp lights. That would count, right?
