I find #1 extremely hard to believe.
I want to know specifics on the " plating process". Based on vegueness of the complaint alone I am highly skeptical.
Disposal of batteries is a lie.
Older hybrid NiMH batteries are highly recyclable, lithium chemistry as far as I know are not economical to recycle but are non toxic. Lithium chemistry are generally not recyclable into another battery, they could be chopped up tossed into a steel blast furnace and possibly recovery the Fe, Co and Mn used. The lithium would end up in the slag.
