The problem is that coconut oil gets solid at a relatively low temperature, which would either require pre-heating to use it straight as a motor fuel or as a biodiesel feedstock. Would otherwise maybe turn into a replacement for thicker lube oils or greases (or eventually become a good feedstock to make the soap used as a base for grease). BTW coconut palms also produce sugar, so they might eventually be an effective feedstock for some alcohol (either ethanol or methanol depending on the fermentation) to be used either directly as fuel or as a reagent in the making of biodiesel.
