But how cool would it be to take the OBDII data, convert it to whatever drives the gauge (probably pulses/sec?) and make 0-8000 rpms into 0-80 mpg? Analog gauges are just so much more... visceral.

I've been thinking of getting a couple of these 3" panel meters and using the output from my OBDIIC&C (serial data stream) and an Arduino to make an analog state of charge and assist/regen amp display for my Insight.
