So gamergate is about whether people have the right to anonymity on the internet, including the right to be anonymously abusive towards others? I'm missing the connection with breaking into an opponent's HQ and stealing their info (Watergate), or what it has to do with games.
SWAT showing up is entirely unacceptable (probably also unacceptable for the raids they perform against non-violent criminals). I can see not wanting an address published for this reason, but SWAT will find out where I live regardless of what is published on the internet. They should have a policy of taking no action unless the identity of the informant can be verified.
I'd take a pizza delivery over the swarm of door to door roofing salesmen.
