Back in the '80s it was the other way; many grads were walking away from their loans with little to no repercussions. That used to BURN me. That is why the pendulum has swung the other way.

BTW, even back then I thought college was quite expensive enough... and it was nothing compared to now. I did do the move back home for a bit and work to pay off the loan thing though, and I'm glad I did. It didn't take long and I hate having debt hanging over my head.
