These people made an argument and logically laid out evidence. Instead of debating it with facts and statistics, people whined that baby boomers ruined the economy.

I have never seen any support for that argument.

Just because the world does not work the way they want it to does not mean it is ruined. What are they doing about it?

I can't think of many reasons why student debt should be forgiven. There is nothing to repossess, so it's an unsecured loan. If you provide a service to someone, in what instances should they not be required to pay as agreed, sometime in their lifetime, for the services you provided?
Back in the '80s it was the other way; many grads were walking away from their loans with little to no repercussions. That used to BURN me. That is why the pendulum has swung the other way.

BTW, even back then I thought college was quite expensive enough... and it was nothing compared to now. I did do the move back home for a bit and work to pay off the loan thing though, and I'm glad I did. It didn't take long and I hate having debt hanging over my head.

Debt is like Tribbles. At first you think it is cute, but then it multiples, until only the full might of the Klingon empire can bring it down!

A B. S. in Humanities and SocSci (paid in cash) got me an assignment in the one-time Republic of South Vietnam that possibly saved my life; but was worthless in the world I came back to.

Did you see the President's speech in Vietnam? He said The USofA has been doing Independence for 200 years, but the Vietnamese having been doing it for 2000 years. It got a round of applause.

Guess that's me. Paying off wife's CC and student debt, as well as putting her through a 2 year medical program...

This is her 2nd week of employment as a PA. I keep threatening to retire now.

It would be more fun to have the sugar momma and not be the daddy

There are a couple of key words in the first paragraph of that article: "unpaid internship". I know CS majors who are pulling down around $70K as interns. EEs make around $60K, MEs around the mid-$50s. If your current major features unpaid internships (and you don't have a decent trust fund to fall back on), run like hell :-)

Nor do you have to go to college to make a decent living. Neighbors' kid did an apprenticeship as an electric lineman: he's in his 30s now, and makes well over $100K/yr.
