I don't run those hills. But if I did, and came up on some ancient Bug with broken suspension or steering, yet the driver keeping it moving, going-to-get-it-home . . . I'd know whom I was behind. Plenty of drama going on behind that steering wheel. And skill. Fennell understand not just cadence, but spacing.

My alma mater! One of them, anyway.
Of course, the Sousa archives happen to be here in Champaign, in the University's Bands Building across the street from the main library. It's on the other side of campus from the two music buildings, and the band department keeps to themselves, so we didn't make it over there much aside from a few research classes.
