Not that many, but Ford buggy-spring suspensions are still around, and the tubular axle was one-year only, with I-beams before and after. The tubular axle is marginally more aerodynamic. It could bolt directly to the frame, eliminating the batwings, radius rods and traverse spring and shackles.
