Synchromesh? That's getting fancy. I wasn't remembering to even add ANY oil at all!

Since this is an old junkyard transmission, does it make sense to fill it with transmission fluid, drive for a few weeks, then drain it and put in the good stuff?

Might get some old goo out.

I am sure I will end up having to yank the whole thing out again for some reason or another anyways. When I do that, all the transmission oil will come out the driveshaft holes anywhoo.
