Keep in mind Mitsu upgraded brakes in 2017: bigger rotors, different calipers & pad material. Suspension & steering revised as well (noticeable improvement when I drove a 2015 & 2017 back to back).

But the "old" Aussie Mirage was still in a different class than the new car.
