The cargo area is relatively high too, so he does not have to bend over that much when he uses it. for him the Jazz is much more practical than my Insight, which is based on the same frame.

My brother-in-law bought a Qashquai for much the same reasons; added to that, he drives a lot and the higher position means better visibility (active and passive).
All of them used to drive estate cars.

The point is: most of the soft-roaders are basically a minivan on steroids. That's why I (and many others) consider quite pointless that someone would get a HR-V instead of a Fit for example. While the Fit is indeed quite roomy, the HR-V even though it's based on the same platform felt somewhat less roomy.
