That is the Munstermobile. It was built by George Barris, the same guy that butchered the once-beautiful Lincoln Futura into a Batmobile. His brother Sam did all the classic lead-sled top chops in the 50s and died early. In the 60s and later George went Hollywood.

And it has [thin] fenders. Here is a home-made example:



Fiberglass body, golf-cart motor and lead/acid batteries. Legal regulation is funny — in this State, the windshield wipers are a required item, but not the windshield itself.
