Not to belabor the point. Both I and my passenger were wearing seatbelts. The other car shot out of a side street at about 60 miles per hour. I was doing 30mph. He hit just in front of my right front wheel and sheared off everything in its path. The other car was being chased by a 3rd car due to an on-going road rage incident I was not aware of. The police caught that car trying to get away. Sadly the impact with my car sent the car that hit me into yet another car that was going the opposite direction. The driver who hit me showed no concern whatsoever about any of the people he hit once he was out of the car. I suspect that he was either drunk or high, or so amoral as to have no empathy for anyone else.
I never saw the other car before the accident. The airbags depolyed, and after that I was concentrating on getting my car out of the road to safety, and the condition of my passenger. My passenger is undergoing chemo and also has a heart condition.
