Yes, plugging in an EV takes time. But I'd do it every day, even if I only had to once or twice a week or so.
At home. Or at work, where the best parking spaces closest to the entry are EV charging points. A temporary advantage, maybe, but for now they're expanding the charging places gradually pushing the non-EV parking spots further away.
I can't fill up my car with gas at home nor at work. I need to make a small detour.
But the two gas stations closest to my home are both under threat. Too close to housing. Both forbidden to operate at night. One also had LPG, but had to abandon that years ago - too dangerous. Gas is next...
I'm not worried yet. But I no longer see the dependency on gas as an asset over electricity.
Charging is free at work. That definitely will not stay that way forever. I think.
