Consider checking the O2 sensors too. A rich runningnvehicle that deposits heavy carbon on the tailpipe is also depositing extra crud on the O2 sensors and the ECU is using data from those sensors to set AFR (in part). Even though you have no CEL a suboptimal O2 could be contributing problems. There are ways to clean them, I am told. I bought new. The one that matter most is the upstream one.
