Even that old cell phone above uses an LCD. It's been the standard display for flat screens for a very long time.

I agree that virtual buttons suck compared to physical buttons, but the benefits outweigh the drawback on small portable devices. Not having to dedicate space for buttons, and the ability to rearrange the buttons as needed is a huge benefit.

I'm waiting for mind reading technology to develop. Why convert thought to physical input? Much more efficient to use thought as the input.
