66 MPG round trip record!
The Metro returned a ~66 mpg US round trip record performance this weekend. That's a high point for the car since I got it. It was on a ~200 km route I travel fairly regularly.
Chalk it up to warming temperatures -- but not yet so warm that I had to enlarge the grille opening for cooling. Also, a light return trip-friendly tail wind. Also, marginally, some lightweighting work -- I took about 60 lbs out of it.
It still needs more more mods! In similar conditions & speeds, the Firefly would have been ~5 to 10 MPG better. Though I'll admit I'm also driving the Metro a little harder (faster).
