How close was actual to the car's MPG gauge? Is the factory gauge useful? How many (instant/trip)?
Baseline... I just meant what you were getting before you got serious, but it sounds like you're already serious. Keep a fuel log here or somewhere so you can watch your progress.
39 is great, especially for a brand new car. It'll improve as the car breaks in, all else being equal.
Does it have a "manual" shift mode? Sometimes you can manually upshift before the programming will.
