Apparently some Dodge owners already disable cylinder deactivation on the V8 because they don't like the sound of the 4-cylinder mode.

Those owners will DEFINITELY not like 4 as the default, switching down to 2 at times!

I regularly walk on a stretch of road where cars are in low load conditions (50 kph/30 mph, slightly downhill), and you can definitely hear when the passing Dodge/Ram trucks are in 4-cylinder mode. They must have a louder stock exhaust.

I haven't been able to hear when the GM's are in deactivation mode.
