A professor at Arizona State said it was difficult to do an energy audit there because it had been designed with the promise of abundant and cheap nuclear energy. If electricity becomes cheaper than land then maybe vertical farming would make sense. Yes, you can control the environment (like you can in a greenhouse), and you can adjust the bandwidths the plants receive, but how many bandwidths do solar panels receive?
