I've done some reading, initial reviews are pretty glowing for both it and the Niro. Ioniq clearly gets better economy than the Niro, but the Niro can fit a full sized couch in the back and still deliver more than 50mpg. Worth considering. Both also have plug-in variants which, in the 'states, are around the same price after federal incentives.
I have some concerns about the 6 speed DCT, but with Hyundai's warranty, it probably isn't a big deal.
