They've had it for quite a while. But anyway, with direct injection (fitted to the Silverado 1500 and available in the F-150 with Ecoboost engines) it's possible to already start with propane since it can be injected at the liquid phase through the stock fuel rail just like gasoline and ethanol. IIRC some Italian gaseous fuel conversion kit suppliers such as Lovato and Zavoli already offer such systems.
