I have seen reports of molten salt energy storage for GenIV nuclear where by it could send 0% electricity to the grid during peak solar hours and 200% all night long.
We have numerous good ways to store electricity: batteries, flywheels, pumped storage, elevated weights, and others.

Heat boils water to make steam to generate electricity. Using the sun to do this makes sense. Using nuclear reaction to do this - does not make sense.

Molten salt stores the heat, so the steam generators can be powered after the sun goes down.
