Vehicles kill more people than all firearm deaths.
Written tests, drivers test, insurance, registration, constant policing, inspection, taxation, speed limits, weight limits, passenger limits all still can't fix stupid.

Plus the Democrats have no interest in passing gun control. They had the super majority from 2008 to 2010 and wouldn't even mention it. A few people would bring it up occasionally and the bulk of the Congress men would be like "gun control? What's that? Never heard of it."
They only time they seem serious about it is when they are the house or senate minority.

Plus if people really cared about saving kids then pools and hot tubs would be banned, all passage vehicles would have had mandated reverse cameras since the 1990s and no electrical outlets would be permitted below 60 inches in residences (this is electrical code for commercial "day cares" and child care centers).
But only the relatively small number of gun deaths matter for some reason.
