Ok,

the led’s or diodes create a certain voltage drop.

So if you have 14v from the battery and the led drops it 2.7v, the radio will see 11.3V.

The amount of current passing through the led’s will be determined by the radio. If it draws a lot of amps a lot of amps will have to pass through the led.

Think of the radio as a variable resistance. The more power it needs the more the resistance drops.
