Well, a couple of things here.

I don't have a flywheel anymore, so anything that bolts to that is out of the question.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the lovejoy, it's just that I am under a limited length. I think if I had a lovejoy half on the motor shaft which connected with a key instead of splines, I could get the coupler farther up the shaft.

Hopefully, the shaft can be trimmed a bit more, and that will take care of the length issue.
