'Conspiracy theories' were an invention of the spooks to obfuscate, like with the UFOs. But they require kernel of truth to work.
Lionel Lebon quotes Gore Vidal all the time "I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm a conspiracy analyst." I have friend who tries to do the same thing with the mainstream media. I think it's not as effective.
