Peterson doesn't like to talk much about his diet because that's not his area of expertise, and readily admits that there is a good chance it wouldn't work well for others. So, he hasn't shared what his doctors said, but generally doctors say if you feel good, then you are good. After all, sick people are those who complain, and well people are those that don't (from the perspective of a doctor).

If you want to know if someone is healthy, you first have to ask "for what?". A healthy guard in the NFL is different than a healthy ballerina, which is different than a marathon runner...

If you simply consider length of life to be the determining factor of health, then a calorie restricted diet is "healthy". Personally, I'd rather chop 5 years off of the end and not be a wimp my whole life.

I'm very ignorant in the area of diet, but there has been controversy lately concerning heart health. It seems avoiding fat is not as important as originally thought with regards to heart health.

My veterinarian friend sometimes goes on an all fat diet to lean out and maintain energy levels throughout the day, and he wouldn't do it if he thought it posed a health risk.

We are better today because our ancestors always practiced eugenics. Simply finding one person more attractive than another is an example of eugenics in action. The genes that propagate into the future don't do so by chance, but by selection.
