The missing link is the Bering Strait. It needs a Boring Company tube while they're at it.
The water depth is only around 300-feet.It would be easy to lay cable from the mainland across to Dionimede/Little Dionomede/Tin City ,and across to the Russian mainland.
The fish trawlers would have to modify their netting practices.
The British laid 30-oil pipelines across the English channel in one night around 1944.
Jump under the Panama Canal and you've got from Terra del Fuego to Homer Alaska connected.
Yucatan-to-Cuba-to Florida (it's already done with oil pipelines)
Charles Lindbergh's air route would also be a cable play to Europe.
