reading through the thread, it seems that you are forgetting the MPGuino as the computer. same code, a couple of diffrent variables (the same ones that you would have to work out for any other vehicle). now just to get a broad range fuel flow sensor. max rate 6 GPH, maximum low rate of 0.25 GPH. this would give you cruising MPG, what you are really trying to monitor.
speed sensor could be a hall effect monitor on the bach of your speedometer.
