reading through the thread, it seems that you are forgetting the MPGuino as the computer. same code, a couple of diffrent variables (the same ones that you would have to work out for any other vehicle). now just to get a broad range fuel flow sensor. max rate 6 GPH, maximum low rate of 0.25 GPH. this would give you cruising MPG, what you are really trying to monitor.
speed sensor could be a hall effect monitor on the bach of your speedometer.

more later.

p.s. conductiity with gas? are you NUTS!

this thread started before the MPGuino got really rolling and hopefully encouraged it's development. it was all tried in the 70's but we didn't have the neat electronics, like the MPGuino. the electronics have gotten more economical, but the inexpensive flow meter remains elusive.

For those looking for a mileage computer for a carbureted engine, I'm selling a few brand new Compucruise 44 kits. I also have the FWD kits for them. Details are in the classifieds.

I couldn't find any specs on that on ac7ss. Like what is the range? Given it is for motorboats with 150 gallon tanks it might not register a motorbike idling, might need to be in 1.5 gph land to get it to spin.

How accurate is the compucruise and at what flow ranges clbolt?

I don't know how accurate it is or what the flow ranges are, I couldn't find any published specs on it. However, from what I've read, they work well if the flow sensor is properly placed. Since you also have to calibrate the unit to your car as far as mileage and fuel capacity, it'd be sensitive to how accurate you were in the calibration. I'm thinking that using a GPS to set up the mileage would make it pretty accurate.

I could not find it anywhere else! On my truck, I figure idling is at 0.55gph. the only way to be less than that in DFCO. This was the only thing I could find in an EXTENSIVE search that was less than us$150.

We had found this sensor earlier, they are hard to find though.
the low end is about 0.396 gph and the high end is about 39.6 gph.

I don't think I've seen the metro exceed 2 gph Though if you wired the injector open it would be about 7.2 gph. And the bike uses less than that.

The low end of the flow wasn't small enough for my liking
0.025 - 2.5 l/min

Actually I havent tried it. My cars are FI so the mpguino by itself works for me. I was just suggesting a thought for anyone who wanted to try it.

Found the product page.
EP-10 Fuel Flow | Lowrance
It says 0.6-45 Gal/hr.
We need an NMEA 2000 display device to read the data.
